Fraudulent platforms

The platform vanished along with your money. Our job is to find the proceedings against the operators and file your claim in time

Promises of steady returns, a "personal account manager" pushing you to deposit more, a website that one day simply stops loading — behind that façade sits a call centre. Many such networks are already the subject of criminal or regulatory proceedings that the victims are simply unaware of. We do not promise to recover everything: the goal is to register you as an injured party in good time and see you through to a share of the confiscated or recovered funds.

Areas of work

Where exactly we help

The route to recovering your money depends on who is pursuing the operators — a regulator, a public prosecutor, or an official administrator in insolvency proceedings. These are the most common scenarios.

Fake platforms run through call centres

Cases against networks of bogus trading brands: assembling evidence of advertising featuring fake celebrity endorsements and high-pressure "account managers", tracing the criminal proceedings brought against the operators, and handling your application for a share of the confiscated assets.

Distribution of confiscated funds

Registering you as an injured party in the procedure for distributing assets seized by the public prosecutor under criminal confiscation (§§ 459h ff. StPO) — with close control over filing deadlines and the progress of the case through to actual payout.

Insolvency of the scheme's director

When there is a court judgment against the operator but no money to enforce it against: lodging your claim in the personal insolvency proceedings of the director or beneficial owner behind the scheme, so that you can recover a share of the insolvency estate.

Frozen payouts at prop-trading firms

A prop firm enters this practice area when a regulator's investigation uncovers signs of a scheme in its business model and payouts to traders are frozen. We document your confirmed balance and pursue the claim through to the resumption of payouts or the case moving onto an insolvency track.

How we work

How a typical case unfolds

Whether it is a criminal case or insolvency proceedings, we follow the same step-by-step approach.

Locating the proceedings

We establish which public prosecutor's office or court — in which federal state or country — is already handling the case against the operators of your platform, what stage it has reached and, crucially, whether any assets have been seized in it.

Checking eligibility and evidence

We determine whether you qualify for recognition as an injured party and build the evidential record: proof of payment, correspondence with the "account manager", screenshots of your client dashboard, and the advertising through which you were recruited.

Registering within the deadline

We prepare and file the documents with the prosecutor, the court or the insolvency administrator. Strict deadlines run from the official publication here, and insolvency proceedings carry a separate period for lodging claims; a missed window often means losing your right to a share.

Seeing it through to distribution

Distribution of confiscated funds only begins once the sentence becomes legally binding — which can take years. We monitor the case throughout that time, keep you informed of every material development, and make sure your claim is not dropped from the quota.

From our practice

Where the money really is after a platform collapses

By the time victims come to us, the money is usually long gone from the platform itself — so we look for proceedings in which the operators' real assets have already been seized. Here is how that played out in one of our cases:

Milton Group · Bamberg Regional CourtThe chief operator of a network of bogus trading brands (Fibonetix, Trade Capital, Nobel Trade, Huludox, Forbslab) was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months' imprisonment. The court ordered the confiscation of more than €3.5 million — against documented losses of at least €27 million and 399 victims in Germany alone. That gap between the losses and the sum confiscated is the answer to why recovery is almost always only partial.
Frequently asked questions

Questions about fraudulent platforms

Almost certainly not. Compensation schemes cover only the collapse of licensed firms; an unlicensed fake platform falls under none of them. The route to recovery here is different: securing injured-party status in the criminal or insolvency proceedings against the operators.

No. This is the standard next stage of the same scheme: the moment a victim tries to take their money out, invented "taxes", "verification fees" or "withdrawal-release charges" appear. Stop making any payments and preserve all correspondence — it is evidence for the future proceedings.

Nothing. The first 30 minutes are free and are used to realistically assess your situation and your chances.

Usually within 12 hours on business days — faster in urgent cases.

Yes, by phone or video call — an in-person meeting at our Manchester office is also possible.

Under the German Lawyers' Remuneration Act (RVG), at an individually agreed rate, or through state-funded legal aid — always set out in writing before any work begins. When we recover your money, a success fee of 10% of the sum recovered is added to our fee. Full details are on our fees page.

Yes. Our practice covers clients across Europe: we correspond with BaFin, CySEC, the FCA, and other regulators regardless of the client's country, and bring claims in German courts against foreign brokers where EU consumer-protection law allows it. For proceedings that require representation before courts in other countries, we coordinate with vetted local lawyers.
